چکیده

28 29 The shift to more distributed forms of organizations 30 and the prevalence of interorganizational relation31 ships have led to an increase in the transfer of 32 V. Sambamurthy and Mani Subramani were the 33 accepting senior editors for this paper. 34 asymmetric and incomplete knowledge information between entities. Because of this asymmetry and incompleteness, parties seeking knowledge may not be able to identify qualified knowledge providers, and the appropriate experts may fail to be motivated to engage in knowledge transfer. We propose a sender-receiver framework for studying knowledge transfer under asymmetric and/or incomplete information. We outline four types of information structures for knowledge transfer, and focus on the sender-advantage asymmetric information structure and the symmetric incomplete information structure. We develop formal game-theoretical models, show how information incompleteness and asymmetry may negatively influence knowledge transfer, and propose solutions to alleviate these negative impacts. Implications for knowledge transfer research and practice are also discussed.

A Model for Context-Sensitive Transfer of Expertise

This paper introduces the LIR-Schema, a framework to model knowledge flows within a company based on model-theory. Competence management is integrated in this framework as a tool for modelling the contexts of sender and receiver of expertise. The main target of this framework is to reduce the knowledge gap between experts and laymen within the company.

Simulatable Adaptive Oblivious Transfer with Statistical Receiver's Privacy

During an adaptive oblivious transfer (OT), a sender has n private documents, and a receiver can adaptively fetch k documents from them such that the sender learns nothing about the receiver’s selection and the receiver learns nothing more than those k documents. Most recent fully simulatable adaptive OT schemes are based on so-called “assisted decryption” or “blind decryption”. In this paper, ...

Efficient k-out-of-n oblivious transfer protocol

A new k-out-of-n oblivious transfer protocol is presented in this paper. The communication cost of our scheme are n+1 messages of sender to receiver and k messages from the receiver to sender. To the best knowledge of the authors, the communication complexity of our scheme is the least. Also, our scheme has a lower computation cost with (k+1)n modular exponentiations for sender and 3k modular e...

Improvement of Camenisch-Neven-Shelat Oblivious Transfer Scheme

In 2007, Camenisch, Neven and Shelat proposed an adaptive oblivious transfer (OT) in which a sender has N messages, of which a receiver can adaptively choose to receive k one-after-the-other. In this paper, we show that the scheme has a drawback that the sender can only serve a single receiver only once. The drawback results from the deterministic encryption used. To fix it, we suggest to repla...

Simultaneous versus sequential knowledge transfer in an organization

This paper studies an organizational knowledge sharing process which requires costly ‘‘teaching’’ and ‘‘learning’’ efforts on the part of the sender and receiver, respectively. The process is a team problem in which the principal rewards successful sharing by optimally rewarding performance. In this setting we compare two modes of knowledge transfer with regard to efficiency. The first is seque...
